Melissa Lane is a Malaysian-Chinese-Australian editor and artist based on Cammeraygal land in Sydney.

She currently works as a freelance illustrator and a senior editor at Penguin Random House, and has contributed art to three books published by Penguin.

Her work spans pencil, digital and mixed-media pieces. It has been exhibited at Brunswick Street Gallery, Red Gallery, Studio Integrifolia and Jacky Winter Gallery.

Outside of illustration, Mel has an honours degree in English literature and a master’s in publishing and communications from the University of Melbourne, and an associate diploma in music.
